Homeborn is a mobile application for documenting residential construction projects. The service includes photo documentation, cost tracking, document storage, and project export features.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Free tier accounts can be used without registration.
You retain all ownership rights to your content (photos, documents, notes). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data. You can export and delete your data at any time.
Paid features are available through auto-renewing subscriptions managed by Apple App Store or Google Play. You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple/Google per their policies.
You agree not to use the service to store illegal content, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere with the service's operation.
Homeborn includes an optional AI assistant ("AI Helper") that processes your PDF documents to answer questions about your construction project. By enabling the AI Helper, you agree to the following:
The AI Helper extracts text from your PDF documents and stores it in a structured format. When you ask a question, relevant text excerpts are sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o-mini) to generate a response. Your original files are not sent to OpenAI — only the extracted text.
Extracted text from your documents is transmitted to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) for processing. OpenAI's API data usage policy states that data sent via their API is not used to train their models. For details, see OpenAI's usage policies. We are not responsible for changes to OpenAI's policies.
AI-generated responses are produced automatically by machine learning models. Homeborn does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI responses for any specific purpose. Responses may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should not rely on AI outputs as the sole basis for decisions with legal, financial, or safety implications.
You agree not to use the AI Helper to submit, process, or generate content that is unlawful, misleading, harmful, or infringes upon the rights of third parties.
Homeborn is provided "as is". We are not liable for data loss beyond what is covered by standard backups. We recommend maintaining your own copies of important documents using the export feature. We are not liable for any damage, loss, or harm resulting from the use of, reliance on, unavailability, or malfunction of the AI Helper feature.
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
